The site www.lemoda.net is changing to a different server type at the web hosts. The current site type is a legacy format which only allows CGI (Common Gateway Interface) programs. The new site type will allow "persistent process" programs on the server.
One motive for this is to deal with overuse issues similar to those affecting https://www.sljfaq.org/cgi/. The CGI system involves creating a process for each web request. Because the web server processes use Perl scripts, a recompilation phase is necessary with each request. This results in a burden on the server when a lot of requests come, which consists of compiling the same programs over and over again.
